Adventurer Nick Sanders Sets Off on Around-the-World Fundraising Ride
It will be the eighth time he has circumnavigated the globe on a motorcycle and this latest incredible ride will raise money to support our work.
Awarded an MBE for his services to endurance cycling and motorcycling, Sanders will collect the honour from Buckingham Palace tomorrow on Thursday 7 October.
Undoubtedly one of the most travelled motorcyclists on the planet, Sanders has completed over a million kilometres on various expeditions.
This time the trip that will take eight months to complete with no back-up other than his mobile phone and a credit card. Sanders will cross some of the world’s major deserts including the Atacama, Great Australian, Gobi, and Thar, as well as a number of famous mountain ranges such as the Himalayas, Andes, Atlas and Urals.
Sanders is using his ride to raise money to support our work. His extensive travels mean he has an insight into importance of the work of Two Wheels for Life.
The trip starts in New York. Nick will ride a Yamaha Ténéré 700, his chosen bike for this ride, to Heathrow Airport, where it will be flown to the United States.
