Emily Robinson, who describes herself as a ‘nearly seven-year-old’ on her fundraising page, has raised an incredible sum to help people fight coronavirus across Africa.

This energy-filled girl jumped come rain or shine!

Very sadly, Emily’s great-grandfather passed away recently from coronavirus and her school is closed down due to the disease meaning she is being homeschooled by her working parents.

But despite her own difficulties, she has been bouncing to raise money for Two Wheels for Life to help people less fortunate than her across Africa. She says:

“At school last year I really enjoyed a project we did on Africa. But I learnt that some people are very poor and not lucky like us. I wanted to help people there get the same help from doctors and nurses that we have to help them fight coronavirus.”

Her jumping has paid off, she made a total of £1k from a combination of online and offline donations, all going to support the effort to help people fight coronavirus across Africa.

This is an incredible amount to raise for any first fundraising attempt, and here at Two Wheels we are very, very impressed with the effort she put in. Emily says:

“I jumped for 26 minutes every day on my trampoline. We put it on the internet and my parents helped me tell everyone what I was doing. I am really happy that people donated and have been very kind.”

Thank you, Emily, and your family, from everybody at Two Wheels for Life. Your money will really help make sure doctors, nurses and other health professionals have the transport and protective measures to fight COVID-19 and other dangerous diseases in the programmes we support.

If you want to join her there’s no better time as everything you donate this Friday the 29 May will be doubled by a good friend of the charity!
