For more than 10 years Tom has travelled to the Riders for Health (Riders) programmes we support to help us tell the story of the people in the organisations and those who benefit from their services.

We were delighted to hear from him in November, when he told us about plan to put a brand new camera through its paces. He got in touch at a good time as we’d been talking about how desperate we were to show people the work we support in Nigeria. Even though Riders Nigeria is one of the largest progammes we work with, we don’t have any professional photographs to illustrate to our supporters how their money is used.
Within a week Tom and his colleague, videographer James were in Abuja, Nigeria where Riders deliver sensitive biological samples around the nation for testing – vital for the speedy diagnosis of deadly diseases. The pair were accompanied by our staff as they visited the Riders for Health head office, clinics and even Abuja’s famous Zuma Rock.
Kayode Ajayi, CEO of Riders says:
“We were delighted that Tom chose Riders for Health Nigeria as the subject of this important project. We know he could have made an easier choice. What he captured really tells the story of what we do. And it’s not only the images that are important but the fact that our staff are being recognised for the challenging but vital work that they do every day.”

The images Tom came back with are even better than we hoped. Showing the pride that Riders for Health staff have in their work and the gratitude felt by the communities they serve.
